Deletion is a recoverable archive first — never a silent erase.
Requesting deletion
A teacher confirms their password and states a reason. Sessions and tokens are revoked immediately, login is disabled, and the account status becomes "Archived by User".
Recovery period
The account can be restored by an administrator within a configurable period, by default 30 days. Questions, papers and audit history are retained during this time.
After expiry
The account is marked "Recovery Period Expired". Nothing is silently deleted; an authorized administrator may restore, anonymize, or permanently delete according to this policy, and every such action is recorded in the audit log.
Backups
Backup copies rotate out on the standard schedule (seven daily, four weekly, three monthly).
